The Mike Satow Archive Collection Added To S&DR Website
As lifelong railway enthusiasts, we were thrilled to be asked to add a new archive to the website of the Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway (S&DR). The Friends are a group of people who care deeply about the railway heritage of the north-east. They want to see the S&DR receive both the protection and the recognition it deserves.
As we approach the 200th anniversary of the start of the railways the photographs taken for the 150th anniversary celebrations are particularly important.
Rare Photos Capture Replica Locomotion No. 1 Construction
The Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway (S&DR) received a stunning collection of photographs donated by Keith Pattison. At LJ Digital Media we were thrilled to be asked to add the images to the archive on the website of the Friends of the S&DR. These images capture the remarkable construction of the replica Locomotion No. 1, built in 1975 to celebrate the S&DR’s 150th anniversary.
Taken between January and May 1975 by Keith Pattison, the photographs offer a unique glimpse into the project led by Mike Satow. The images have been shared with the https://www.sdr1825.org.uk/ so that we can all enjoy them. Copyright remains with Keith Pattinson.
The archive can be seen here.
